Barite, England. Barite is the major ore of barium, the compounds of which are used to color fireworks green. Barium is also one of the ingredients in the "milkshakes" patients drink to highlight their digestive tracks for X rays. Barite itself is added to drilling muds when oil wells are drilled because its density helps support the sides of drill holes.
